Denmark’s first Soroptimist Club – The Copenhagen Club – was founded 12 October 1936 on the initiative of Dr. Noël, a member of the oldest Soroptimist Club in France “Paris Fondateur”.

The 32 founder-members were women well known in society in the then “small metropolis of Copenhagen”.

The first President of the Club was Dr.med. Rigmor von Magnus, who also became the first President of the Danish Union of Soroptimist Clubs when it was founded in 1938.
